I have been juicing now for about 2 weeks and even though I haven't completely stopped eating bread and other processed foods, I noticed an immediate difference. I lost about 4 pounds the first week and my skin started to improve. During my second week, I have begun to get more energy, I sleep incredibly well and I just know this is something that I will continue doing.
I will do a 7-10 day juice fast soon, just to detoxify and reboot my system.
One more thing, the juicing isn't just for people who want to loose weight, it's also for slim people too, as the health benefits are incredible. :)
With all these juices and smoothies, you will get all the nutrients, vitamins, enzymes etc. that your body needs and most likely craves and you will get them on a cellular level.
In addition to all the fruits and veggies, I would like to suggest you add some spirulina and chlorella as well.
They are superfoods that's really packed with all the good stuff.
Instead of white sugar, I suggest you use either Coconut Palm Sugar, Stevia or Xylitol, and use Himalayan Salt, instead of ordinary table salt.
If you can get organic fruits and veggies, that would be the absolute best!
I will recommend a couple movies to watch if you are serious about getting healthy or to maintain your health; The Gerson Miracle, Food Matters and Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead. You can find these and others on netflix.com
Here's some of the recipes I use. Hope you enjoy them.
Orange Sunrise1-2 Orange Bell Pepper(s). Open and remove seeds
1 Orange - Peel, but leave the pith on
4 Carrots
1 Large handful of pineapple chunks
1 Lemon - Peel, but leave the pith on.
Juice everything in a juicer and pour over ice.
Lemonade with Ginger
2 Apples
2 Carrots
1" slice of Lemon
1/4" fresh Ginger
Juice it all and pour over ice. Enjoy ;)
I haven't come up with a name to this one yet.....
2 Apples
Handful of spinach
1-2" fresh Pineapple
2" cucumber
1/2" slice of Lemon
a slice of beetroot
1/2" slice of broccoli stem
To juice the spinach, pack it tightly between the apples. This goes for all that's leafy
Juice it all up and pour it over a few ice cubes.
Apples and Pears
2 Apples
2 Pears
A few leaves of fresh mint
Juice and poor over ice. Refreshing :)
Hot Apple juice w/Cinnamon
3 Apples
A touch of cinnamon
Juice the apples. Warm them in a pot, but make sure it doesn't boil.
When the juice is warm, pour into a cup and sprinkle some cinnamon on. Yummy :)
Joe Cross' Mean Green Juice
1 Cucumber
4 Celery Stalks
2 Apples
6-8 leaves of Kale
1/2 Lemon
1/4" ginger
Juice, poor over ice and enjoy !
For the Mean Green smoothie, just add 1 frozen banana and 1 cup almond milk. Put the juice in a blender with the banana and the almond milk. Mix for about 45 sec.
Pear, Ginger Zinger
1-2" Ginger
1 Pear
2-3" Cucumber
A handful of Spinach
3-4 Carrots
Tuck the spinach tight between the cut up pear.
Juice and enjoy !

1/2" cucumber
Juice, pour over ice.
